Who are we?
We are ECCQ’s Multicultural Advisory Team
- We build cultural capacity within the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) for service providers to better respond to the needs of multicultural communities
- We also support multicultural communities to maintain wellness and reablement and to access culturally appropriate care and services by providing information, education and individual support.
What we do
We provide FREE professional cross –cultural training to CHSP service providers
Organisations providing Commonwealth subsidised aged care services are responsible for meeting the Aged Care Quality Standards.

If you are a CHSP provider we can:
- Deliver free cross cultural workshops and forums.
- Assist you in addressing cultural diversity in accordance with the National Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Support staff to effectively communicate across cultures.
- Partner with you to promote your services to CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) communities.
- Provide you with resources to support culturally appropriate services.
- Provide free consultation about working with CALD clients and communities.
- Assist you to establish networks and links with CALD communities.
- Work with you to identify barriers and gaps in current service provision for CALD clients and their families and carers.
We provide information and support to CALD Communities
If you are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, we can:
- Coordinate and deliver information and education sessions for your community about keeping healthy, accessing My Aged Care, and staying safe from COVID-19.
- Assist you with accessing care and navigating My Aged Care.
