Garry has a wealth of experience with the multicultural sector in Queensland, having previously worked at Multicultural Affairs Queensland for five years in the role of Executive Director. Prior to joining ECCQ, Garry was Chief Operating Officer at Access Community Services. Garry’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts, a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Science and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. Garry has a strong track record of achievement in the public and private sector, having worked nationally and internationally in the areas of child safety, youth justice, homelessness, domestic and family violence, disability services and in the multicultural sector.
With over 30 years of experience working in the aged, disability and community care sectors, Trish is passionate about working in such a dynamic industry. She has extensive knowledge and experience in providing service delivery for special needs groups, including people from CALD backgrounds. Trish has proven success in accreditation processes including recent Home Care Standards for HCPS and CHSP. Her genuine passion and commitment has seen her attain a variety of leadership roles in both residential and community care. Over her career she has managed a range of multi-disciplinary teams including community care coordinators, nursing, allied health, administration and support staff. Trish has qualifications in allied health, rehabilitation, occupational health and safety, aged care, management and education and training.
Karien has worked in Human Resources with a state-wide aged care residential provider for over five years. Prior to this Karien worked in Human Resources for seven years in the private sector mainly in hospitality and tourism. Karien’s experience has given her exposure to all facets of Human Resources and Workplace Health & Safety areas and workplace injury management. Karien has a Bachelor of Business with a major in Human Resources.
Nanette’s journey in the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) arena started in the Seychelles where she was born and raised in a melting pot of British, French and African cultures. She brings to Diversicare, valuable experience in all aspects of financial and treasury accounting, strategic planning and business management from various operations in Australia, USA, UK and New Zealand. Australian-specific experience also includes statutory obligations such as corporate tax, audits and compliance reporting. Nanette is CPA qualified with a Graduate Certificate of Management from Deakin University. As a Board Member and Treasurer of the Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health for four years, she gained experience in the Not for Profit Sector. Nanette has also worked as a volunteer facilitator of a Money Program with people struggling with their finances.
Sofian has worked in IT for close to 20 years, and has been involved with not for profit, private and publicly owned companies recently mostly across the health, medical and community sectors. He has extensive experience in network and database administration and all levels of IT support and project management. As well as his IT qualifications, Sofian holds high level industry certifications from Microsoft, Cisco and Citrix and is a member of the Information Technology Professionals Association.
