Scarborough resident and Diversicare client, eighty-seven years old Aileen O’Sullivan has a new lease of life since acquiring a mobility scooter.
An avid beach walker, Aileen has had her mobility restricted for the last 12 months after suffering shortness of breath due to a medical condition.
Since acquiring the scooter, she is able to resume her daily outings along the Scarborough Esplanade.
“I love my new scooter, I’ve gained my independence again and I couldn’t be happier, “Aileen says.
An occupational therapist assessed Aileen for the shiny blue scooter and she says she can now even do 3-point turns!
Aileen receives a Home Care Package level 2 from Diversicare which includes domestic assistance and social support and looks forward to seeing her two home care workers, Martine and Rebecca, twice a week.
